There’s many ways to verify authorship of your content with Google.

You can add the code directly to your child themes functions.php file or install a plugin.

You can also link your author box to your Google+ profile without the need to mess around with code.

But what if you have posts written by guest authors?

One of the easiest ways to solve this problem is to install the Google Author Link plugin.

Google Profile URL

Multiple Authors

Go to each users profile and enter their Google+ profile url in the field.

Each user has the ability to link their Google+ profile on every post they have written.

You’ll also need to create a link on your Google+ profile back to your author archives.

Contributor To Other Blogs

If you’re writing posts as a guest author on other blogs, you should add links to those blogs in the Contributor field on your Google+ profile page.

Got to your Google+ page and click the Edit Profile button.

Add the url’s to your author archives for the sites you guest post on.

Edit Contributor To Links

Single Author Blog

If you’re the only author on your blog, you can use this plugin as well.

Go to the plugin settings page and select your profile.

WordPress SEO by Yoast Plugin

If you’re using this plugin and running a single author blog, then you don’t need to install the Google Author Link plugin.

Yoast’s WordPress SEO plugin already includes a field for linking your content to your Google+ profile.

Verify Author Ownership

Once you’ve setup your Google+ profile:

Google Search Preview

After entering in a url for one of your blog posts, you’ll see your face next to the search snippet which contains the meta description in Google SERPS.

Authorsure is another plugin which enables you to set up authorship verification of your content in Google’s search results.
