This can be very helpful if you are working on your link building to see if you have a chance to increase your search engine ranking or if its better to move onto another page that is easier to move up the rankings.

Selecting the right keywords after completing keyword research using the Google keyword tool isn’t always easy.
The best method i have discovered so far is to use a keyword tool that gives me the keywords my competition are using to out rank me in the search engine results (SERPS). These keywords are proven correct by the search results especially when used by the top 3 rankings for terms.

Google webmaster tools also provides a list of keywords and the movements of those keywords in your search engine results based on search queries relating to those keywords.
This information doesn’t track your search engine results positions – SERPS or your competition and like Google analytics, it isn’t fresh data. I suppose you can’t expect to much from a free service that everyone has access to anywhere in the world!
Using the correct keyword tracking method is important if you want to increase your search engine results because you can easily see what the best keywords are that you need to use.
