Ever wanted to know how to take full screen shots of an entire webpage?

You can use Control > Print Screen to copy the visual part of your screen but then you’ll need to paste the image into a program like Paint to save it.

If you want to edit, crop or enhance your image in any way, you’ll need to use another tool to do this unless you use a tool that’s been especially developed for this type of job.

Here’s 3 tools i have used and recommend you try if you want to copy part of your screen and make changes to your screenshots.

Fireshot

Fireshot is a screen capture addon that you can download and use in any browser. It enables you to take screen shots of the entire webpage not just the area visible in your screen.

You can then upload the images to your media library and insert them them into your posts and pages.

You can also save your screen shot or edit it in fireshot. Once you’ve downloaded and installed fireshot all you need to do is click a button to take your first shot.

You will  notice a tool button located at the top-right (top left) corner of your browser.

Simply press it when you want to capture the contents of your currently opened web page. You may also right-click the contents of the web page and use “Take Screenshot of this Page” menu item for taking web page captures.

With the help of FireShot you can crop visible area, perform various bitmap operations highlight and hide required fragments of captured page, add text annotations, upload, save, e-mail, export to external editor and copy contents to clipboard.

Awesome Screenshot Firefox addon

Another tool i use for taking screenshot’s is Awesome Screenshot.

Its a free addon for Firefox and other popular browser which captures the whole page or any portion, annotate it with rectangles, circles, arrows, lines and text, blur sensitive info, one-click upload to share.

Other features include:

1. Capture entire page or crop any portion
2. Annotate it with rectangles, circles, arrows, lines and text
3. Use eraser to hide sensitive information
4. Save to your local computer or upload to awesomescreenshot.com and get a shareable link

Snagit Premium Tool

The best screen capture tool is Snagit.

It’s made by the same people behind Camtasia and you can download and try Snagit for 30 days free.

If you’re using screenshots in tutorial’s and want the best tool for the job, i highly recommend Snagit.

You can also use this tool to create and edit video screencasts and it works on both Windows & Mac.

I own this tool and love using it because it makes creating professional looking images more engaging and is very easy to use.
