Have you heard of Copyblogger? If your an internet marketer or blogger, you probably have come across Brian Gardner’s StudioPress themes and Brian Clarke’s famous blog, Copyblogger.com
Both Brian’s have now developed SEO software that can be used as a plugin which i am setting up for a New York client today. I thought i’d write a blog post and include some screen shots as i’m also helping my client with keyword research and basic on-page SEO for beginners and intermediates using Scribe SEO for WordPress.
The best way to learn SEO is to use a method you believe in yourself on your own blog posts every time you write content. You will then learn keyword research and understand how to optimize your own content in a matter of weeks. Reading information alone will not teach you unless you apply that information using best practice.

Activation and Settings
Pretty straight forward. All you need to do is enter your API key and choose a supported tool. We’re already using the Genesis framework for WordPress and i know Brian Clarke from Copyblogger fame also uses this WordPress framework himself so its works well together.
Looks like i have a bit of work to do here. I have already completed extensive keyword research and its looks very promising in contrast to what this screen shot tells me because i haven’t even written the content yet. I’ve just added a few lines about the author.
I won’t be changing the keywords as i haven’t entered them into the content yet as the author will be doing this. I am confident she will write the content very well using the keywords i have chosen for her.
I’ll list the keywords at the very bottom of the post in a full screen shot. Healthy living (Domain)– anti aging (Category)– look younger (main post). These keywords are all highly related to this blog post.
Note the custom permalink structure keywords : /%category%/ postname%/ http://www.myhealthyliving101.com/anti-aging/20-ways-to-look-younger-naturally/
I won’t be adding the terms in this screen shot as tags as there not relevant. I will be adding the keywords i have researched once the post is written by the author.
SERP – (Search Engine Results Page)
This screen shot shows you only part of Brian Clarke’s scribe best practices for SEO success. There are more scribe SEO secrets however, you’ll have to Take Scribe On a Risk-Free Test Drive and see for yourself.
If you are new to WordPress and SEO, i suggest you try scribe for 1 month as it will teach you a lot about how to optimize the content of your blog posts and website pages.
These keywords are for the WordPress site title, categories and post from –
Here’s a full screen shot of my keyword research using the primary Site keyword for categories – Healthy Living (Coming Soon!)
Here’s a full screen shot of my keyword research using the category keyword – Anti Aging (Coming Soon!)
The posts title will be something like – “20 Secrets to look younger naturally” with the main keyword – Look Younger (Coming Soon!)
This is how the scribe keyword research looks in your WordPress dashboard once installed
You can click Review and also click Get Keyword Ideas simply by clicking the buttons
Clicking Review or Analyze will bring you to the main screen with all the different tabs which i have made screen shots for individually above. Here’s what the content optimizer looks like.
Click the Research button to get data on –
External links are outgoing links from your site to other sites and should include “rel=no follow”
Internal links are a very important part of on page SEO and work especially well when using the correct anchor text linked to highly related content on other pages and posts on the same site.
Social Media Links can produce good traffic to your site however they are not significant and make up only 1/200 of Google’s secret algorithm when determining your indexing. Links from sites containing related content to yours using the correct anchor text, preferably from a higher page rank (PR) site carry far more weight and link juice.
Stay tuned – I’ll be writing another post which will include the full page SEO using scribe once the author has completed the content for that post.Subscribe to Free Tutorials
