Custom Reviews Text for WooCommerce

A plugin that customizes the review count text format, changing default formats like “(1 customer review)” and “Reviews (1)” to custom text.

This plugin filters and modifies review count text throughout your WordPress site, including WooCommerce product reviews tab title and single product rating blocks. It provides separate customization for the reviews tab title and product rating block text, with both global and per-product settings.

Installation

1. After plugin activation, go to Products > Review Text to customize the format
2. The plugin will automatically start filtering review count text

Customization

Global Settings (Products > Review Text)

Set default review text for all products:

1. Navigate to Products > Review Text in your WordPress admin
2. Configure the fields under Tab Title:

• Reviews Tab Title Text: Controls text in the reviews tab title (replaces “Reviews (1)”)
• No Reviews Tab Title Text: Text shown when product has no reviews
• Show Reviews Count in Tab Title: Checkbox to display count (e.g., “Reviews (5)”)

3. Configure the fields under Ratings Block:

• Product Rating Block Text: Controls text in the product rating block (replaces “(1 customer review)”)
• Rating Block No Reviews: Text shown when product has no reviews
• Show Reviews Count in Rating Block: Checkbox to display count (e.g., “5 Customer reviews”)

4. Enter your custom text in each field

5. Click “Save Changes”.

Per-Product Settings (Product Edit Page)

Override global settings for individual products:

1. Edit a product in WordPress admin
2. In the Product Data section, click the Review Text tab
3. Configure the per-product fields under Tab Title:

• Reviews Tab Title: Custom text for this product’s reviews tab
• No Reviews Tab Title: Custom text when this product has no reviews
• Show Count in Tab Title: Per-product override for showing count

4. Configure the per-product fields under Ratings Block:

• Product Rating Block: Custom text for this product’s rating block
• Rating Block No Reviews: Custom text when this product has no reviews
• Show Count in Rating Block: Per-product override for showing count

5. Enter custom text or leave empty to use global defaults

6. Update/Publish the product.

Default Values

• Reviews Tab Title Text: “Reviews” (replaces “Reviews (1)” or “Reviews (X)”)
• No Reviews Tab Title Text: Empty (uses WooCommerce default)
• Product Rating Block Text: “Customer reviews” (replaces “(1 customer review)” or “(X customer review)”)
• Rating Block No Reviews: Empty (uses WooCommerce default)
• Show Reviews Count: Disabled by default (count not displayed)

Count Display Format

When “Show Reviews Count” is enabled:

• Tab Title: Displays count after text in parentheses, e.g., “Reviews (5)”
• Rating Block: Displays count before text, e.g., “5 Customer reviews”

Priority

Per-product settings take priority over global settings. If a product has custom text set, it will use that. If the per-product field is empty, it falls back to the global setting.
