Sridhar Katakam joined the StudioPress community Forums in Feb 2013 about a month after i starting contributing. At some point, he starting stalking me and attacking my answers. When this didn’t work, he starting illegally republishing content on sridharkatakam.com in breach of my copyright policy.
Even though i was aware he was stealing from me and hostile towards me, i decided to Skype him and offered to help with PHP coding. He continued republishing dozens of tutorials from my site to sridharkatakam.com and scraping hundreds more which he republished on other spam blogs he owns, some of which have now been taken down.
I had no choice but to try and protect my online property and search engine rankings, so i dealt with it privately & professionally. I filed 1 DMCA to see if it would stop him. It only made him angry, which in turn lead to online shaming, and vigilante justice.
Approved DMCA’s Against SridharKatakam.com
Google have already approved dozens of DMCA takedown notices which i have filed against dozens of spam sites owned by members of the Genesis community. Dozens of DMCA takedown notices have been manually approved by Googles staff against SridharKatakam.com.
My Indian friends tell me that In revenge for filing DMCA’s, Sri has played the race card and painted me as a unfriendly, unwelcoming racist to gain support from people in Australia and other countries after he migrated to Australia.
Around this point, Sridar told the community using the #genesiswp Twitter hashtag that he was going to take his site down. Even though he had wronged me many times, i forgave him, went to his blog, praised his work and encouraged him to continue writing tutorials.
When Sridhar was notified via Google Webmaster Tools that Google had approved the DMCA takedown notices, he became hysterical thinking that i was going to ruin his reputation, which was never the case.
I never once discussed the DMCA’s with anyone in the community privately, nor did i publicly shame him for stealing from me. I simply tried to protect my online property and prevent others from out ranking me for my own work using Googles service.
After this, Sridhar contacted several people in the Genesis community and portrayed me as a “hater” who was trying to destroy his reputation. He got on Twitter with several other people in the community who took his side and shamed me for filing the DMCA’s. This is another method cyberbullies use to trash their competition.
Never once did anyone in the community ask my side of the story. They got together and created a nasty cyber bullying campaign which continues to this day.
The E-Mails i Sent
