Images and video’s can go viral far easier than text for many reasons.
Considering Pinterest is so popular and focuses on media, don’t you think its a good idea to add your Youtube video’s to your Pinterest account?
The power of Youtube combined with the popularity of Pinterest is an exciting combination don’t you think?
When you pin video’s to your account, you get:
- a backlink for each one
- and included on the Pinterest video page
Its easy to do however there’s a few things you need to know before you start adding links to a new board.
Create New Board
Choose a name for you board like you would choose a category for your posts.
Use a keyword which is description of the overall topic of your video’s.
Copy YouTube Long Link
Grab the longlink rather than the shortone (which won’t work in Pinterest)
If you can’t find this link:
- go to the video you want to post on Pinterest
- click the video title
- click share & options
- copy the video url
Add a Pin
Back in your Pinterest account, click Add a Pin.
Add Youtube Link
Paste the url to your Youtube video in the empty field and click Find Images.
Choose Board
Once the image to your video displays, choose the board you wish to add the video to.
Add Pin Description
Here you can add a description of your Youtube video the same way you can in Youtube.
You can also add a link back to your website page which includes more information on the same topic as the video.
Edit Pin
You can always go back and edit the content of your Description, change the link or delete the Pin and start again.
Sharing Pinterest Video’s
You can also share your Youtube video’s directly from your Pinterest account which creates another link to your content.
I tested this video on my Pinterest account and it works fine however the Youtube HD link didn’t work for me.
