Social Follow Buttons Using Custom Menu In Split Footer of Genesis Sample

This tutorial contains CSS code which ONLY works in the Genesis Sample child theme.

The CSS code will not work properly in any other StudioPress child themes.

You will need to modify the CSS to get it working in other themes.

There’s 2 steps involved:

  1. Create a new menu unassigned to any theme location. Add dashicon classes as custom classes to each menu item as seen in the screenshot below.
  2. Add PHP and CSS code to your child themes files.

Custom Menus

You can grab different dashicon classes directly from the HTML link on the Dashicon website. Here’s more about how to use Dashicons in WordPress.

Here’s all the code:

All the PHP code goes at the end of the Genesis Sample themes functions.php file and the CSS at the end of the style.css file.
