This code enables you to display a custom read more link after any excerpts you have added to your post manually in the excerpt box shown below which is located on all Edit Post screens.
The code works in any theme.
Genesis users will need to go to Genesis > Theme Settings > Content Archives > Display Post Excerpts for the code to work.
And here’s the result tested on the Genesis Sample child theme by StudioPress.
