Replace Hero Image With Soliloquy Slider In Essence Pro Hero Section

This solution replaces the hero image on the front page of the Essence Pro child theme by StudioPress. It only replaces the image on desktops and displays the image at the same screen width when the mobile menu displays.

Shows the slider replacing the background image in the hero section on desktops and the default image shown on smaller screens when the mobile menu displays.

Assumes no image added to customize > Essence Pro Settings > Header Background Image.

The solution in this tutorial uses the Soliloquy plugin with backstretch unlike this solution which uses a plugin only.

Code Installation #

Step 1 – Upload the folder named hero-slider to the Essence Pro themes root directory like this :
