Add Favorites Button To Jetpack Slide Show Block

The code in this plugin, adds the favorites button to each slide using the Jetpack slide show block. The button uses the favorites plugin by Kyle Phillips which enables you to easily change the button type to :

• Favorite
• Like
• Love
• Bookmark
• Wishlist

You can also use the button settings to style the button and include the like count without modifying code and adding CSS.

Usage

Install and activate the plugin named Like Button for Jetpack by Brad Dalton WP SITES.

The code in the plugin can also be copied into your child theme and load that way.

The Jetpack slide show block is coded so its fully compatible with WordPress making it much easier to work with for developers than other popular slider plugins.

Testing

Tested using the Twenty Twenty & Twenty Twenty Four default themes for WordPress as well as Genesis. Should work in any theme however remember to select the color options for background color etc on the Display and Post Types > Favorite Button Content & Appearance tab and enable favorites for media.

There’s also 3 small CSS rules included in the style.css file if you prefer using custom code.
