Email Verification for Downloadable Products in WooCommerce

This plugin for WooCommerce enables you to make sure customers who checkout with free products, use a valid email address. This is done by disabling downloadable products until email verification has been successfully completed.

The plugin adds :

• A admin field for customizing the email subject line
• A admin field for customizing the content of the email message
• Checkout page fields to create a username and add a email address
• A error notice to the checkout page to force customers to create an account when checking out with free products

Compatibility

Works with both the new block based checkout and the older shortcode checkout.

Tested using the Twenty Twenty Four block and Twenty Twenty default themes for WordPress

Usage

You can use the default settings added by the plugin without the need to customize the verification email content. Otherwise, use the custom fields added to the Email Verification page in your WordPress dashboard.

Account creation on the checkout page is only forced when a customer tries to checkout with a free product.

You’ll need to complete the following 2 steps :

1. Create 2 pages using the verification-success and verification-failed page slugs.
2. Add the following shortcode to your verification success page

[verification_success_link]

The shortcode outputs a link to the downloads tab on the customers my account page once their email has been verified.
