Gift Card Coupons for WooCommerce

This plugin enables you to create gift cards ( coupons ) based on a minimum order total. You can configure the settings to apply the coupon to the existing order or email the coupon for usage in other orders.

Global Settings

• Enable/Disable Gift Cards: Toggle gift card functionality on/off
• Minimum Cart Total: Set minimum cart total required to show gift card option
• Default Gift Card Amount: Set the default amount for gift cards
• Coupon Configuration: Customize coupon code prefix and length

Email Customization

• Email Subject: Customize the subject line for gift card emails
• Email Heading: Set the heading for gift card emails
• Email Template: Full control over email content with placeholder support
• Placeholders Available:
• {gift_card_code} – The gift card coupon code
• {gift_card_amount} – The gift card amount
• {recipient_name} – Recipient name
• {sender_name} – Sender name
• {message} – Personal message
• {site_name} – Your site name
• {site_url} – Your site URL

Delivery Method Control

• Apply to Order Automatically: Gift cards are automatically applied to the order as coupons
• Coupon is created and applied to cart when cart total meets minimum requirements
• No additional gift card creation after order completion
• Customer sees discount applied immediately during checkout
• Send via Email Only: Gift cards are sent via email with coupon codes for manual use
• Coupon is created only after order status reaches “completed” or “processing”
• Gift card is sent via email with coupon code for future use
• Customer must manually apply the coupon code during future purchases

Control where gift card details are shown:

• My Account Page
• Order Emails
• Thank You Page

Order Status Control

• Display Order Status: Choose when to show gift card details based on order status
• Processing
• Completed (default)
• On Hold
• Any Status

Configuration

Basic Settings

1. Navigate to WooCommerce > Gift Card Coupon
2. Enable gift cards and set your preferences:

• Minimum cart total
• Default gift card amount
• Coupon code settings

Email Settings

1. Customize the email subject and heading
2. Edit the email template using the available placeholders
3. Preview your email template before saving

Display Settings

1. Order Status Control: Choose which order status triggers gift card display
2. Display Locations: Choose which pages should display gift card details
3. Control email inclusion of gift card information

Usage

For Customers

1. Add items to cart (meeting minimum total if set)
2. Complete the purchase
3. Gift card is created and delivered based on your delivery method setting:

• Apply to Order:
  • Coupon is created and applied to cart when minimum total is met
  • Discount is visible immediately during checkout
  • No additional gift card creation after order completion
• Send via Email:
  • Coupon is created only after order status reaches “completed” or “processing”
  • Gift card is sent via email with coupon code for future use
  • Customer must manually apply the coupon code during future purchases

For Recipients

1. Receive gift card email with code and instructions
2. Add items to cart
3. Enter gift card code during checkout
4. Apply the coupon to use the gift card
