Add Favorites Button to Gallery Block Images

This custom block plugin adds an extra setting to the default Gallery block settings. The new setting is added to enable the favorites button. When toggled on, buttons are added to each image in the gallery.

Update : You can now use this new plugin named Image Likes & Favorites for WordPress without the need for any 3rd party plugins.

Note : The code requires the activation and setup of the Favorites plugin by Kyle Phillips enabled for media.

Tested using the Twenty Twenty Four default block theme for WordPress and the Genesis Sample theme by StudioPress.

Usage

• Install, activate and configure the settings for the favorites plugin by Kyle Phillips. You can find it by searching for favorites on the add plugin page > search plugins.
• Download the Gallery Block Favorites Button plugin from the download folder below
• Install and activate the plugin
• In the block gallery settings, toggle on Enable Favorites Button
