Remove Featured Image From Genesis Blog Page

This tutorial provides the solution which enables you to remove the featured image from the Genesis blog page template. Its been written to answer the following question from a member:

I’d love to have the featured image display on the front page but not on the blog page. Is that possible?

Note: The image is only removed from the blog page and NOT other archives you’ve set using the Genesis > Theme Settings > Content Archive > featured image settings.

Demo Video

Shows the featured image displaying on all archive pages except the blog page.

There’s 2 simple steps involved:

Step 1 : In your child themes root directory, create a file named page_blog.php using this code.

For some reason, this didn’t work for me. But I put it in the functions.php as a conditional for is_home() and it worked great.
