Using Google Drive for Storage?

Also own a self hosted WordPress blog?

There’s a new WordPress backup plugin that integrates with Google drive.

WordPress backup to Google drive

Download the new Backup to Google Drive plugin which enables you to backup selected files and databases to your Google drive account.

Create Client I.D & Secret

Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin, login to your Google account and:

Create Google APIs

You’ll then get something looking like this:

Client ID for web applications

Configure Google Account

Paste the API key and secret into the fields.

Configure Google API Settings

Backup Settings

Select the directories you want to backup to Google drive as well as the database you want copied and you’re done.

Backup Settings

Conclusion

This is a new plugin and the only one for this purpose at the moment.

Another option is to use the backup to Dropbox plugin.
