Add Facebook Like Button Beside Site Title In Genesis

This solution displays your Facebook like button inline with the Genesis site title like this :

Tested using the Genesis Sample child theme by StudioPress.

If you’re using the wide recommend – count -share button with a long site title, it might not fit on 1 line on smaller screens. In this case, you can use CSS to display the site title, Facebook button and menu toggle at a specific screen width for mobiles.

Installation Steps #

There’s 3 steps :

Step 1 : Follow the first 3 steps from this Facebook tutorial and paste the Javascript SDK code from step 2 into the Genesis > Theme Settings > Header Scripts box.

Here’s how it looks once pasted into the Genesis > Theme Settings > Header Scripts box :

Steps 2 & 3 relate to usage of the code from the download folder.

Step 2 : Copy the PHP code from the functions file in the download folder to the end of your child themes functions.php file.

Step 3 : Copy & paste the CSS from the style.css file in the download folder to the end of your child themes style.css file and clear caching.
