Add Flexible Footer Widgets To Monochrome Pro

This tutorial provides several methods which enable you to add any number of footer widgets to the Monochrome Pro child theme by StudioPress.

Here’s the result showing the standard 3 widget areas :

3 Flexible Solutions

  1. The first solution enables you to add any number of widgets to the widget area named “Flexible Footer Widgets” and they will display perfectly inline filling the entire width of the screen. This can be 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 or more widgets.
  2. The second solution displays 3 widgets only named Footer 1, Footer 2 & Footer 3 within the footer widget wrap.
  3. The third solution also only displays 3 footer widgets however they display full width of the screen.

Shows how you can use any number of widgets to the widget area named “Flexible Footer Widgets” and they will display perfectly inline filling the entire width of the screen.

Shows the default 3 footer widgets and how they display in 1 column on smaller screens.

Code Installation

There’s 3 different solutions in the download folder.

Solution 1 : Copy & paste the PHP code from the file named functions-1.php to the end of the Monochrome Pro themes functions file. Copy & paste the CSS from the end of the file named style-1.css to the end of the Monochrome Pro themes style.css file.

Solution 2 : Copy & paste the PHP code from the file named functions-2.php to the end of the Monochrome Pro themes functions file. Copy & paste the CSS from the end of the file named style-2.css to the end of the Monochrome Pro themes style.css file.

Solution 3 : Copy & paste the PHP code from the file named functions-2.php to the end of the Monochrome Pro themes functions file. Copy & paste the CSS from the end of the file named style-3.css to the end of the Monochrome Pro themes style.css file.
