Add Slider Before Content & Sidebar On Blog Page

To add a slider before the content sidebar wrap on the blog page only, simply copy the PHP code below the image from the view raw link and paste it at the end of your child themes functions.php file.

add slider blog page only

The code assumes you’re using the Soliloquy slider which you can also add in the header area..

You will have to change the slider I.D (‘53027’) in the code to whatever your installation generates after you create a new slider.

The above code has been tested on the AgentPress 2.0 child theme by StudioPress.

Hi Brad – Useful this one.
I’ve been playing with the free version of Soliloquy and boy is it slow.
Got much better results with the free version of Meta Slider.

Presumably you use the paid version of Soliloquy.

I know that homepage sliders are frowned upon from an SEO point of view, but with a meaningful text overlay I think that they could be pretty useful.

I think its the fastest loading so am surprised you said that.

I did test them for speed awhile ago but can’t remember which one was fast, but bit was the fastest by a long way.

Maybe the premium version is fast and the free version slow. Not sure but take you word for it.

      Thanks for the feedback.

As far as SEO goes, Google hates me.

No increase in traffic for long time even though i feel my content is very good now.

        Hi Brad

        Read this http://wordpress.org/support/topic/slider-very-slow-loading-any-ideas-to-improve

As for Google hating you – your content is gold dust but I don’t see you about much under #GenesisWP and the Genesis group on Facebook.

Ok so that explains what the deal is.

Clearly a good reason to pay up for the premium version which i have done.

My feelings on joining the Genesis social groups:

I’m enjoying my experience with WordPress but prefer face to face rather than online social groups.

      2. I just wanted to let you know that your content is what SHOULD have shown up on the Genesis site! It’s like all of the tips that had collected over the years in the forums and got tossed when they did their changeover have ended up here, pouring out of your awesome site – you are a go-to reference, sir! Thanks a lot for keeping up and always adding…
