How To Remove The Link From A Featured Image So It’s Not Clickable

There’s currently no way to remove the link from either the genesis featured page or featured post widget as there’s no filter included in the widget’s source code. You could copy over the widget to your child theme and modify it there to remove the a tags however you would also need to update the widget code at some stage when Genesis updates.

The solutions in this tutorial enable you to remove the link from any featured images. The code can be used to remove the links from the featured image displayed using the Genesis featured page or featured post widget.

Simply add the code to your child theme folder.

This code was tested on the Infinity Pro child theme by StudioPress to remove the link from each featured image for each team members headshot.

This solution enables you to target specific widgets in specific widget areas without affecting other widgets on the same page.
