This solution creates a custom genesis featured posts widget named Link Image to CF.
The widget appears on the widgets page in addition to the default Genesis featured posts widget.
The custom featured posts widget is named Link Image to CF.
Any featured images displayed using this widget are linked to the URL you paste into the custom fields meta box value field. If no URL is added, the featured image for the post links to the default post permalink.
