Make Archive Pages Look Like Home Page Widget Areas

This tutorial enables you to display any type of archive exactly the same as the front page which uses widgets in Metro Pro.

Based on this question from a member of the Genesis community.

Is it possible to make category pages look like the homepage?

Shows the news archive with 6 posts displayed the same as the front page widget areas.

The code enables you to target each post so you can position and style each differently including elements within each entry, using CSS Grid templates areas.

Template Installation

There’s 2 simple steps :

Step 1 : From the download folder, upload the file named category.php to your child themes root directory.

Step 2 : From the download folder, copy & paste the CSS to the end of your child themes style.css file.

On Other Archive Page Types : Name the file using the WordPress Template Hierarchy for usage on blog listings page, author, blog, category, search, tag, custom post type & taxonomy type pages.
