Google blog search allows you to add your blog to their special blog search index.
This offers many benefits especially for searchers who want to setup an alert to be notified when new posts have been published.
All you need to do is go to add your blogs address to blog search and you’ll be indexed.

Once you’ve done this you should be indexed allowing searchers to receive notification about blogs publishing new content on a specific topic.
Create a New Alert
To create a new alert, go to Alerts and simply fill in the fields with your email address to receive notification of new posts.
You’ll then receive an email with a list of new posts on the topic you signed up for.
Google Alerts are email updates of the latest relevant Google results (web, news, etc.) based on your queries.
Enter a search query you wish to monitor.
You will see a preview of the type of results you’ll receive.
Some handy uses of Google Alerts include:
- monitoring a developing news story
- keeping current on a competitor or industry
- getting the latest on a celebrity or event
- keeping tabs on your favorite sports teams
