No Index FeedBurner Feeds – Simple Solution

Recently i started seeing my feed URLs indexed in th search results which is why i’ve written this post.

You can use the WordPress SEO by Yoast plugins RSS settings, however i also know some people are cutting down on plugins which is why i’m posting this solution.

Its as simple as what you see in this screenshot of any Feedburner account.

no index feed google

If you also want to block your feeds from being crawled, you can:

Go to Webmaster Tools > Crawl > Blocked URLs

Disclosure: I’m not recommending or suggesting in any way that any of the actions on this post will effect your rankings or traffic or have any positive or negative effect on the search engine optimization of your website. I simply prefer not to see URL’s indexed which link to the same content.

I have a problem, some crazy sites are copying up our feeds and since they are high authority sites, Google is considering their content to be unique. What hurts is they don’t link up to our blog properly. It has happened to my previous blogs.

So that’s the reason why I am not using Feedburner on my recent blogs.

You can get them taken out of the search results.

I would also find out who they are hosting with and send a DMCA taken down request for the entire site.

Another good solution Brad – I’m also cutting down using plugins because you just never know what’s inside of them or how they have been built.

      Thanks John

I just find plugins aren’t really mean’t to be modified and in some cases aren’t needed when there’s other solutions.
