Make Header & Menu Span Full Width on Executive Pro Theme by StudioPress

Out of the box, the Executive Pro child theme by StudioPress displays the header and menus within the width of the site container which is 1140px.

To extend both the header and nav menus, you can change this code which starts under the Site Containers section on Line 1141 of your child themes style.css file under the Structure and Layout section.

Here’s the default CSS code which needs replacing:

Other Options

You could also re-position all the header markup and hooks using the genesis_before hook and do the same for the nav menus if you prefer that method.

I am customizing the Executive Pro theme, and would like to make the header area, menu bar and the slider at top of the home page to all be full width. Currently the whole site has the white strips down both sides. I want to keep my content areas like that, but want to change the header, menu bar, and slider.

    Thanks for the CSS. Got my menu back on track, just the Responsive slider isn’t cooperating.

    Any suggestions?
