This solution is a extension of this tutorial which adds a image after the header on the front page of Outfitter Pro theme.
The difference with this tutorial is that it displays the image behind the site header elements on desktops including the site title, menu and search form like you see in the following demo video.

Shows the site header elements displaying over the after header background image on desktops and before the image on mobiles.
Tested using the Outfitter Pro child theme by StudioPress.
