Wonderflux Theme Framework for WordPress

Wonderflux is a new open source project created for WordPress developers who need a flexible theme framework for quicker and easier customization via a child theme.

Once you install Wonderflux, it is advisable to create a child theme and add your custom coding to this child theme.

Wonderflux Hooks

WordPress hooks enable you to easlity display any type of code or content in any location there’s a hook.

Wondeflux currently offers over 100 different hook locations for this purpose

If you want to customize the Wonderflex parent theme functions, COPY THE ORIGINAL FILE FROM THE WONDERFLUX PARENT THEME  into your child theme folder – for example footer.php to ensure that you keep all the required WordPress hooks and supporting code active.

Layout & Design Options

After activating your child theme, you’ll notice a style tab  located under the Appearance menu in your admin screens. Here you’ll find a range of design and layout options which make is easy to customize your child theme further.

Wonderflex is fairly new and not for everyone as its a very bare framework for theme developers wanting to create custom functions. You could also learn how to create and customize a theme by contributing to the Wonderflux project at code.google.

Did you try out Wonderflux? What do you think?
